Building MyLibrarian in Public: Spring 2024 MyLibrarian Build in Public Blog
On Just $250K a Year
MyLibrarian is ending our R&D phase, and soon will have a product out on all platforms (we’re still building our community and API, however). As we launch to the public and scale, I estimate we would need revenue of $250K annually to keep going.
Since we have 4 LOIs from B2B customers, scaling to $1M ARR is a distinct possibility. I’m pretty transparent, but am a dreamer, which surprises no one, since I just finished my sixth novel (Be There will be published on August 13, and advance reader copies are available now).
When you see something that others don’t see, how can you position yourself as right, and not delusional? This came up at a tech talk I attended at Founders, Inc in SF, as posited by Abhay V from Anduril.
My big vision goes beyond In the Stacks. I’m confident MyLibrarian’s use is groundbreaking for book discovery and will be acquired. Our investors then get a financial win. And most importantly, our Librarian Brain data will help shape AI for book discovery.
The current MyLibrarian product’s success is strengthening AI for books, with our vertical data set, the Librarian Brain. We outperform our competitors for recommending diverse, unbiased books.
And as with Be There, a goal is to inspire builders and technologists. Be There follows the journey of a female entrepreneur learning to surf while raising a seed round. Recently, MyLibrarian brought in more friends and family angels, to finish v4.5 and deliver it to users.
No one can do what we do. AI can not replicate our specific tech, on the contrary, MyLibrarian’s Librarian Brain enhances AI, and allows for seamless recommendations in an online bookseller interface.
