Building MyLibrarian in Public: Fall 2025 MyLibrarian Build in Public Blog

In the spiral stairwell at the Mechanics Institute San Francisco

We’ve Made Progress!

Meet MyLibrarian’s Vertical AI, our Librarian Brain and AI Agent Veronica

You may have heard about MyLibrarian. Here’s an update. We’re a Vertical AI data set revitalizing two legacy industries. Books are a $40B market and we have a TAM of $5.1B. We’re a consumer app and also work B2B, integrating into bookseller interfaces, to provide personalized, targeted, curated recommendations from Librarian experts.

Instead of the cross-selling based on purchase history, which might work for selling dog food, readers need more nuance in their search via a modern AI solution. We’re the new Goodreads. Librarian Brains are Smarter than ChatGPT (but we work with LLMs). We have 5 LOIs from enterprise booksellers. MyLibrarian’s moat is our proprietary Librarian Brain AI data set that we’ve been scraping since 2016. AI Agents give you more of the same, or just summarize what’s already out there.

Librarian Brain AI curates a reading list just for you. LLMs aren’t precise enough and don’t have the data. MyLibrarian is a Vertical AI, trained on industry-specific data, with greater accuracy and more reliable results than general AI.

This intro has been long, so here’s a recent demo video and pitch.

For context: MyLibrarian’s Librarian Brain AI curates a better reading list for you. We’re on TestFlight and opening the beta soon. Want a link? More at http://MyLibrarianApp.com ? We’re raised $400K of our $1.6M preseed ?

Recently we pitched at the SheFundraises event during SF Tech Week. More here. This was our fourth pitch event at the wonderful Mechanics Institute private library in downtown San Francisco, and it was the biggest one yet.
