The Other Talking Statues of Rome
As regular readers of this blog know, in 1501 Pasquino was the first Talking Statue of Rome and is also my grandmother’s maiden name (more here). Pictured from the left are the other Talking Statues of Rome: Marforio, Madame Lucrezia, The Abbot Luigi, Il Babuino, and Il Facchino. In the historical young adult novel I’m currently writing, they band together and with their own version of satirical posting create a public outcry so magnificent my Pasquin character is released from jail. Talk about power of the press. In Pasquino, Veritas—Michelle
